Three Easy Steps to Scare the Hell out of your Fears!
If there is one thing that has all the power to cage, stop, prevent and even kill you, it is FEAR.
Fear is such a recognized experience that I do not see the need to define or explain it. Therefore, I am just going to dive in- how to embrace, accept and face our fears. Basically how to use our fears to improve life rather than becoming aggravated.
Here is an easy to implement, super impactful prescription to face that big fat scary gigantic killer fear of yours.
Specify your fear!
Fear has different roots for different people. Some are afraid of looking stupid, some people’s fear is financial burden, losing time, harming reputation, etc.
So, that being said, it is important to identify your fear. Still not sure how to do it? Simply answer following question in detail.
- What is it that you are afraid of?
- What can go wrong?
- What does fear look like?
Be specific and write it down.
Chances are, you are going to end up with a list of negative thoughts and consequences that keep you away from moving forward. This list, my friends, is a piece of art. Because you just translated your subconscious dialogue to an understandable concept at conscious level where you can actually see them, face them and get rid of them. All this hard work without having a psychology degree or paying $400 hr to someone with one!
Prevent Fearful Consequences from Happening!
Imagine those fears are real and you are given a very short time to PREVENT them. Do it! Here is how:
Take a look at your list.
Come up with a way that can prevent EACH problem.
For example, if financial borden is one of your fears, come up with ways you can prevent that! Creating small saving account, getting a loan, cutting down on some expenses, shopping smarter etc. are some examples you can prevent that fear.
Make sure you come up with prevention plan for every single fear of yours.
Final step is to reverse the process!
3. Get Back to Starting Point.
IF that fear of yours did actually happen, how can you get back to your starting point?
In order to be realistic and credit reasoning ability of the brain, you have to accept that some of your fears could possibly be based on reality and your prevention plan might not work!
NOW, what are some steps you can take to get back on your feet, your starting point?
You just helped your brain face

- Find solutions to them, and even have an emergency plan.
